Incredible Mountain Views, Beautiful Trails and Looking Ahead to Our 2027 TMB Adventure

Another unforgettable Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB) trekking adventure has successfully come to an end, and we are delighted to look back on an incredible journey through the spectacular landscapes of the French, Italian and Swiss Alps.

From the moment we started our trek in Les Houches to our final day in Chamonix, the group experienced breathtaking mountain scenery, challenging hiking trails, beautiful alpine villages and the rewarding feeling of completing one of Europe’s legendary long-distance treks.

At Namaste Nomad, we believe that a great trekking experience is about more than simply reaching the destination. It is about enjoying the journey, discovering new landscapes, sharing experiences with fellow hikers and making memories that last a lifetime.

Highlights of Our Tour du Mont Blanc Trek

Stunning Views Around the Elisabetta Area

One of the highlights of our journey was the Elisabetta area in the Italian Alps, where the mountain scenery was truly spectacular.

The impressive peaks, open valleys and beautiful alpine trails created some unforgettable moments during our trek. The surrounding landscapes offered everything hikers dream of when exploring the Mont Blanc region.

However, accommodation in some popular TMB locations can be extremely crowded, particularly during the busy trekking season. This is one of the important factors we consider when planning our future departures.

Our aim is to combine beautiful hiking routes with accommodation choices that allow our guests to relax and recover after a long day on the trail.

Blueberry Hut: A Memorable Final-Day Experience

Another special highlight was visiting Blueberry Hut, located high in the mountains with an incredible view of Mont Blanc in the background.

Standing in such a spectacular setting, surrounded by the Alps, was one of the memorable moments of our trip.

After days of hiking, moments like these remind us why the Tour du Mont Blanc is considered one of Europe’s most impressive trekking adventures.

Finishing the Trek in Le Tour and Chamonix

On our final hiking day, we finished our trek in Le Tour, from where we took a bus to Chamonix.

We then checked into a four-star hotel in the city centre, giving everyone an opportunity to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of Chamonix after completing the trek.

Finishing a long-distance hike is a rewarding experience, and we believe the final evening should be about enjoying the achievement in comfort.

Our Accommodation Approach: Comfort, Good Food and Proper Recovery

One of the key lessons from this year’s trek was the importance of choosing accommodation carefully.

The Tour du Mont Blanc is a demanding multi-day hike. After walking for several hours through mountain terrain, a comfortable bed, a good shower and a satisfying meal can make a significant difference to recovery.

Although staying directly on the trekking route can be convenient, some locations, including La Fouly and Champex-Lac, can experience significant accommodation pressure during the peak season.

For our future groups, we are looking at alternative accommodation arrangements, including combining hotels in different locations and using short bus transfers when necessary.

Our priority is to provide a trekking experience where guests can enjoy:

  • Comfortable accommodation after long hiking days.
  • Good food and opportunities to relax.
  • Proper rest and recovery.
  • Beautiful hiking routes without unnecessary pressure.
  • A well-organised experience supported by an experienced local team.

Sometimes, a short bus journey is a worthwhile trade-off for a better night’s sleep.

After all, sleeping peacefully is something we all need during a demanding mountain trek.

Hotels We Recommend

During our recent trip, we experienced several accommodation options that made a positive impression.

Hotel Terminus, Osiris

Hotel Terminus was a great choice, offering a comfortable place to stay and a good environment for relaxing after hiking.

For next year’s groups, we are considering staying here again rather than relying on accommodation in some of the more crowded trekking locations.

If you appreciate decent accommodation and good food after a long day on the trail, Hotel Terminus is an option worth considering.

Hotel Base Camp

Hotel Base Camp was another excellent part of our accommodation experience. We aim to combine hotels and suitable locations to give our guests a balance of comfort, convenience and mountain adventure.

Our approach is not simply to follow the traditional route without flexibility. We carefully consider where our guests can stay, eat and recover so they can enjoy the next day’s hiking.

Can You Hike the Tour du Mont Blanc?

We often receive questions from people who are interested in trekking in the Alps but are unsure whether they have the fitness or experience required.

Here is our approach:

If You Can Complete the Mourne Wall, You Can Prepare for Mont Blanc

If you can successfully complete the Mourne Wall hike in Northern Ireland, you already have experience of challenging terrain and sustained physical effort.

However, the Tour du Mont Blanc involves multiple consecutive days of hiking, significant elevation gain and changing mountain conditions. Proper preparation and training are essential.

With suitable training and preparation, the Mourne Wall can be a useful stepping stone towards your Mont Blanc adventure.

If You Can Complete the Mont Blanc Circuit, You Can Work Towards Everest Base Camp

The Tour du Mont Blanc is an excellent introduction to multi-day mountain trekking.

Completing the circuit can help you develop experience in:

  • Hiking for several consecutive days.
  • Managing long ascents and descents.
  • Walking on varied mountain terrain.
  • Maintaining energy throughout a trek.
  • Adapting to changing weather and trail conditions.

However, Everest Base Camp is a different trekking experience, involving higher altitude, acclimatisation and specific preparation.

Completing the TMB does not automatically mean someone is ready for Everest Base Camp, but it can provide valuable trekking experience as part of a broader preparation plan.

At Namaste Nomad, we encourage hikers to build their experience gradually and prepare appropriately for each adventure.

The Legend of the Tour du Mont Blanc

The Tour du Mont Blanc is more than just a hiking route. It is a journey through some of the most impressive mountain scenery in Europe.

The trail passes through three countries:

  • France
  • Italy
  • Switzerland

Along the way, hikers experience dramatic mountain peaks, alpine valleys, traditional villages, glaciers and beautiful walking trails.

Yes, some areas can become busy, especially during the main trekking season. However, hiking with an experienced service provider can help you plan your days, choose suitable accommodation and identify quieter trail sections where conditions and logistics allow.

Our local knowledge and experience help us consider the practical details that can make a difference to your overall trekking experience.

The goal is not simply to complete the route. It is to enjoy the mountains, explore the scenery and create a memorable experience.
