Next Departure to Himalayas for 2018.
Long waited our group departure for trekking in Himalayas is on 12th march 2018, this time we have 12 amazing people taking part,most of the people are new to Himalayas and its their dream trip.Or we can say bucket list. We do lots of Everest Base Camp , Annapurna Trek but langtang is also one of the amazing place to do trekking and experience Nepali way of life.The Langtang Valley starts from an altitude of 1,500m beside the road at Syaphru Besi, disappearing up a narrow, forested gorge. For much of its length it is less than a kilometre in width, and the mountains rise sheer on either side. The valley ascends steeply, and gradually widens before emerging into wide open spaces at Kyanjin Gompa (3,850m), where the last teahouses can be found. Most trekkers go no further than Kyanjin, our last camp will be here as well.
We will be all flying from Dublin with Qatar Air to Doha and then to Kathmandu Capital of Himalayan kingdom Nepal, first day our plan is to get relax and evening we will be experiencing our first Nepali dinner and Nepali cultural Dance,
And next day after breakfast we will Visit Shyambhunath known as a Monkey temple, from here you can see whole Kathmandu valley and also famous Buddhist and Hindu temple together. Swayambhunath is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaityas in Nepal. It is said to have evolved spontaneously when the valley was created out of a primordial lake more than 2,000 years ago. This stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and has numerous shrines and monasteries on its premises.
Swayambhu literally means “self-existent one”. According to translations from an inscription dating back to 460 A.D. it was built by King Manadeva and by the 13th century, Swayambhunath had developed into an important center of Buddhism.
Second we will visit Patan Darwar square to see Nepali history, buildings, culture and art etc.The ancient Royal Palace of Patan faces on to a magnificent Durbar Sq. This concentrated mass of temples is perhaps the most visually stunning display of Newari architecture to be seen in Nepal. Temple construction in the square went into overdrive during the Malla period (14th to 18th centuries), particularly during the reign of King Siddhinarsingh Malla (1619–60).
Reconstruction of temples affected by the 2015 earthquake will continue for several years, so safety fencing and scaffolding is to be expected. However, all restorations are well underway and the Royal Palace housing the museum is open.
And In lunch time we will be visiting Boudhanath stupa one of the famous buddhist pilgrimage site in Kathmandu , during the earthquake in 2015 it was completely destroy, but now it has rebuild and looks amazing from one of the returned we will have lunch and view the stupa.For centuries, Boudhanath has been an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists & local Nepalis. It is located on what was a major trade route between Nepal & Tibet. Many traveling merchants used it as a resting place. It is also a popular tourist site. In 1979, Boudha became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Great Stupa of Boudhanath is the focal point of the district. There are at least 29 Tibetan Gompas (Monasteries & Nunneries) around Boudhanath.
Its will be the last evening before we travel by bus to langtang.
Next Morning we will take the bus from Kathmandu and travel to Langtang valley for next 9 days. Trekking and hiking in Himalayas.
On 17th march we will be in Himalayas celebrating St Patrick day with all Irish friends in group. all the 12 people are Irish so why not st Patrick celebration in Himalayas.
