This holistic tour is not to be missed! This trip is all focus on Health, welbeing, culture, food, and spirituality. In India Kerala has been a prime centre for the development of Ayurveda for long. The verdant forests and hills abundant in herbs and other flora are extremely valuable for the preparation of Ayurvedic concoctions. Keralites or Malayalis adhere to a ayurvedic lifestyle in their cuisine, religious rituals, oil baths, periodic purification etc. Even the martial art forms and dances have drawn from Ayurvedic therapy of health, exercise and healing. This tradition has been kept alive in this exotic land of Kerala at the south western tip of india by Vaidyars (physicians).

These physicians classify a patients’ state of health according to the imbalances of the three doshas namely Vata, Pitha and Kapha. Kapha is the entire physical volume in a living organisms, pitha, the entire biochemical process operating in a body and Vata is that which constitutes bodily movement and activity. A disturbance in any of these three doshas leads to a particular disease and the treatment is administered to restore the equilibrium.

Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or just first time adventurer you'll notice when you search on line for somewhere to visit that there are plenty of web sites and travel companies that seem to offer very similar packages, similar routes, similar landscapes all promising the same experience. This is my second time to Himalayas, first time to Everest base camp (with a different Irish Company). I recently travelled to Island Peak with Mohan and Namaste Nomad team. No matter how much research you do regarding a trek the experience will be a unique and personal journey for you, there are a lot of variables to consider. I enjoyed my first experience, however when I compare both treks covering similar routes albeit different destinations I cannot stress how impressed I am with the leadership, professionalism, sincerity, and uniqueness that is offered by Namaste Nomad. From the outset there is trust, honesty, and a deep motivation by Mohan and his team to understand and satisfy your reason for joining an adventure with them. Whether you travel alone (like me), as a couple, or a group of friends you will soon feel part of a wonderful group with the necessary time to oneself and others yet the room to feel like you’re on holiday although you have a mission. They offer great advice from well seasoned experienced staff, your safety and well being are always monitored and cared for, food and accommodation is lovely and varied. The people you meet, the guides and helpers, and the places you visit and stay along the way are easily passed by other tour companies. With our 2018 trek to Island Peak plans had to change due to weather conditions and our itinerary was altered and managed seamlessly by Mohan and his team with coordination with Kathmandu. This unplanned adjustment offered a window to a successful summit for the majority of our party, although we met groups who failed either side of our new summit day including a group of 19 who were left so disappointed. I am a seasoned hiker but this was my first time using ropes and having to complete some technical mountaineering, the training and equipment was provided by Mohan and his team including Dawa J Sherpa (5 time Everest summiteer) all helping to micro manage each group member on the day. The uniqueness offered by Namaste Nomad is that they genuinely care that you get the most from the adventure you choose. Other companies testify to the same but sometimes really it is left up to you to make the most of what they offer, they're running a business however to Mohan and Namaste Nomad it is more than just a business, one experience and you'll understand what I mean. They have set a real benchmark for me.

This was the second trip I booked with Namaste Nomad. The first was hiking to Everest Base Camp which was a phenomenal trip! I placed a deposit on Bhutan before I left Nepal due to the shear genuineness of Mohan. He is very thorough in ensuring a safe and successful trip. In Bhutan he was open to group needs and used this information to organize alternative to the original plans. The group I was with had great communication between so that we could make choices that benefitted all of us. If you are thinking of traveling abroad and you love realism in your travels this is the company to book with. You will get the chance to see everyday life in your travels vs sitting on a tour bus skipping the realities of life outside.

I have just returned from the most remarkable trip of a lifetime to Everest Basecamp. I don’t usually write reviews however on this occasion I feel the need to share my experiences which I hope will inspire others to travel and to book a trip with Namaste Nomad. I booked this trip in Jan 18 after meeting with Mohan. After my initial meeting I had no doubts in travelling with Mohan and his team. Mohan is an exceptional person who is so passionate about his business and works so hard to ensure everyone meets their goal and has an amazing trip. Everest Basecamp was everything I imagined and much more. The views are breathtaking and the sense of achievement on arriving at Basecamp is so hard to put into words. The trip is a life changing experience as you learn so much about yourself and indeed about others. It really was a journey from the time of booking until we returned home from the Himalayas. I found it very challenging physically, mentally and emotionally but that’s what made it so very special. Throughout the trek Mohan was so attentive to our every need, every decision he made was the right one and his motivation and encouragement ensured we all made it successfully to Basecamp. Mohan’s knowledge of Nepal and the Himalayas is exceptional. Everything from planning the food to gauging the weather to recognising signs when some of us weren’t too well was spot on If you are considering a trek then I can honestly say that you will not get anyone better to travel with than Namaste Nomad. The team of Sherpas and Porters are incredible and the bond made with the Sherpas is one I will never forget, it really was incredible. As for value for money you will not get a more competitive price as I priced several others which were significantly more costly than Namaste Nomad Overall if you want a challenging and life changing experience then I encourage you to make that adventure with Namaste Nomad and I guarantee you will not regret it Thanks to Mohan and his team for everything, I will never forget it. I first heard of Mohan and Namaste Nomad 2 years ago and since then I have been on 3 amazing trips with them. The first one was in March 2018 when I went to Langtang in Nepal. My first time there I was excited but more than a little apprehensive. I needn’t have worried. Mohan and his team of sherpas were absolutely wonderful. Everything was taken care of, tickets, transfers, all accommodation, most meals, money exchange and advice on where and what to eat and drink. We had been told that it would be completely vegetarian and dairy free on the trek. I had no problem at all with the vegetarian part of it but thought the dairy free might be tough. It wasn’t at all. We ate the most delicious food all prepared by our sherpas using fresh mostly locally sourced ingredients. The dal boat was to die for. We were constantly reminded to drink water, use sunscreen, wear a hat etc. The scenery in langtang was spectacular, towering snow capped mountains and deep valleys with raging rivers. It was an area which had been badly hit by the recent earthquake and there were sad reminders of the damage which had been done. Overall a very good and memorable experience. June 2018 I headed off to the Picos in Spain with Mohan again. For anyone who might be reluctant to travel too far , but wants amazing scenery I would totally recommend the Picos. Somewhat similar to the Himalayas I thought, one area known as the gorge stood out for me anyway. It was breathtaking. We stayed in the most beautiful little villages, ate delicious food and drank lovely local wine. Just a little as we had to remember we were walking in the morning! In April of this year I went back again to Nepal this time to do Annapurna base camp ( usually just known as ABC). A totally different area but no less lovely. It had a lot of forest and was very fertile. As well as being our guide Mohan was a great source of information about the local people and their way of life. I never stopped asking questions!. Again great walking , lots of steps this time but we kept going and finally on Easter Sunday morning at around 8 local time we arrived into ABC. We were told that the morning was the time to see it at its best . The rising sun in such a blue sky , the snow capped Annapurna range all combined to made it such a highlight. It was so well worth it. I think the fact that I did 3 trips with mohan and his team in such a short space of time says it all and I’m certainly not finished yet. For anyone who wants a trek with a difference but at a good price I don’t think you could do much better.

What can I say about Namaste Nomads, just Excellent. From start to finish, everyone that we dealt with were helpful, professional, caring and accommodating in what we wanted for our adventure. Itinerary changes were no problems. The advice we were given before we flew out to Kathmandu and all through the trek were invaluble in making the trek a success. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel and met by Ashim who checked us in and explained about the rest of the trip. We met our guide Dawa (5 times Everest summitier). So much experience from all the Namaste Nomad staff. The trek was fantastic and Dawa (guide) and Sudip (sherpa) looked after us throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their advise from what to eat and how to cope with the altitude was invaluble. The porters who carried our bags were efficient and our bags were always at the lodge well before we arrived. When we got to EBC a change to the itinerary was discussed with us. Dawa suggested we climb Kala Patthar that afternoon and see the sunset over Everest rather than seeing the sunrise early in the morning. What a brilliant suggestion as we saw Everest on fire. If you want to do trek in Nepal then check these people out. I would not hesitate to go with them again. Already planning a trip in 2020 with them.

Best company and personal guided trekking in Himalayas. I been to NEPAL few times and I have done trek in Annapurna circuit with travel company from Dublin ( not fair to say name?) That company collaborate with Nepali local company. This time I choose Namaste Nomad after friend of mine recommend Mohan from donegal ( he is nepali origin Irish citizen and previously worked in Himalayas as #sherpa and guide) I checked the website and see the cost of EBC, compare to other company from Ireland he was very cheap but his itinerary and service looks similar. It was bit hard design to take after seeing price as don't know why he is very cheap and rest are expansive. But now I can say it was the best design. After my #ebc trek with Mohan and Dawa I understand that they deal direct and no middle man. They have oxygen, emergency satellite phone, madicle kit, and we were guided by 5 time Everest summiter one of the humble guy Dawa Sherpa. I am so thankful that I made it to Everest Base Camp. Going up all food was dairy free and no meat, it was hard but great vegetrain food for healthy body and its safe and no sickness. In high altitude Mohan says meat and dairy dosent digest properly that's why many people are tummy sick and get altitude sickness in high places. Many big company doesn't care this much in details , probably no experience in field. Mohan and Dawa have great knowledge and so much caring. Mohan have great links with domestic Air and hotels and markets in Kathmandu also along the trek in tea houses it makes trip very flexible, he was able to change few places in itinerary in our demands. Instead of staying in Namche 2 night we travel to #khumjung like that didn't happen in last trip. Arrival dinner in Kathmandu was free and very well organise evening. Well breafing pre trek. Early flights in and out from lukla. No hassel at all. Luggage store in Kathmandu, Hotel moonlight is best place to stay just back of thamel and 1 minute from Everest Irish Pub 😁. Great rooms and nice beer garden in back. Sightseen was include in trip as well. Overall it was the best adventure holiday so far. I am already decided to do Meera peak with Mohan and Namaste Nomad next year. I fully recommend this small but amizing company for you epic trip to Himalayas.

Himalayas, they are beautiful, intimidating and challenging. You might think they are perhaps to hard for you? Well, they are hard, but in our everyday life we are often very comfortable. We need to be challenged from time to time to remind ourselves that we are more than our houses, jobs and what others think of us. I needed that break and challenge two years ago. I joined Mohan and his team on the journey to Everest Basecamp. And lets get the boring (but important) stuff out the way. The team is as professional as it gets. We had the nicest food, best accommodation and best guides. Mohan created atmosphere of community and support. I often looked at other groups (that probably payed 2 or 3 times as we did), and they did not had the service and the fun that we did. But apart from all of the pragmatic stuff, they are the Himalayas themselves. My choice was to abandon the internet altogether (its there if you need it) and enjoy being there. For two weeks, the world forgot about me as i forgot about it. All i cared about was walking. It was like a meditation, an it was simple. Just one foot after another until we reached the destination. Mohan does expeditions the way they should be done. He cares about your spirit, what you eat, what you drink, how you sleep. He knows that those things will get you there and help you with the altitude. His team is supportive, and very experienced. I will be a repeat customer one day, and not once.

AMAZING PICO MOUNTAINS NORTH SPAIN

October 2016 Everest Base Camp... I went with Namaste Nomad having looked at other companies based in Ireland doing the same trek. Mohan was always available to answer questions. He himself has trekked to EBC lots of times which is reflected in his knowledge and experience. He employs Sherpa's (and pays them a fair wage !) whom are also very experienced trekkers and some have summited Everest !! they are very in-tuned into the needs (inc health needs, signs & symptoms of altitude sickness), informing us of the different peaks and opening to talking about their experiences summiting mount Everest. The weather was not in our favour for part of the trek. One morning...at 4am the cloud finally lifted; Mohan came and woke us all to share our first glance of mount Everest it was amazing. It is a well worn track to EBC and the key is to take it slowly and enjoy...live in the moment! Mohan always ensured we ate well, drank plenty of clean water & paid attention to everyone on the trek to ensure we remained healthy & safe in order to reach EBC. Mohan had arrange some touristy stuff in Kathmandu before our departure to Lukla...which was great and an opportunity to meet and get to know the group. I would recommend Mohan and his company Namaste Nomad !! I have subsequently booked a trip to Bhutan with Namaste Nomad :)
