This holistic tour is not to be missed! This trip is all focus on Health, welbeing, culture, food, and spirituality. In India Kerala has been a prime centre for the development of Ayurveda for long. The verdant forests and hills abundant in herbs and other flora are extremely valuable for the preparation of Ayurvedic concoctions. Keralites or Malayalis adhere to a ayurvedic lifestyle in their cuisine, religious rituals, oil baths, periodic purification etc. Even the martial art forms and dances have drawn from Ayurvedic therapy of health, exercise and healing. This tradition has been kept alive in this exotic land of Kerala at the south western tip of india by Vaidyars (physicians).

These physicians classify a patients’ state of health according to the imbalances of the three doshas namely Vata, Pitha and Kapha. Kapha is the entire physical volume in a living organisms, pitha, the entire biochemical process operating in a body and Vata is that which constitutes bodily movement and activity. A disturbance in any of these three doshas leads to a particular disease and the treatment is administered to restore the equilibrium.

See what people are saying about us!

I recently returned from a thoroughly enjoyable trek to EBC and Kalapathar. The trip was beyond amazing and a life changing experience. This was all made possible, largely due to our highly organised and very knowledgable Leader Mohan (and his team of local Sherpas and Porters) who educated us on all aspects of life in Nepal including environmental issues which he is very passionate about. Mohan’s attention to detail was second to none, ensuring everyone stayed healthy and safe, while also thoroughly enjoying ourselves. This is the trip of a lifetime with breathtaking views and such cheerful and welcoming locals. We had a fantastic group that supported one another throughout and the craic was brilliant. I would highly recommend travelling with this company and I for one, can’t wait here for my next trekking adventure with them. Thank you Mohan.

Everest Base Camp & Kalapathar

"

I travelled with a group from Ireland to Nepal where we started our joureny to Everest Basecamp. This trek was very special to me as I was doing it for charity in memory of my late brother who was a keen hillwalker. Our group was made up of 9 people from Ireland, Scotland and USA. Such a fantastic group it turned out to be. We all supported each other and made new friends, having alot of fun along the way. Oh From start to finish Mohan our leader, did everything in his power to ensure that our trek was 100% successful. The trip was very challenging but very rewarding. He supported us all even when we were struggling and was there at our beck and call at all times. I would like to give a special mention to the 3 sherpas who accompanied us during our trek, Tshering, Pimba and Paldene. Such fantastic support to all of us and true gentlemen. I would highly recommend this group for anybody contemplating a similar experience.

Trek to Everest Basecamp 20th September 2019

Thank you, Namaste Nomad and Mohan, for an epic trekking experience of a lifetime to the Everest Base Camp (EBC). The planning process was straightforward with timely and accurate communication from Mohan. He was quick to answer our questions which inspired great confidence in the company. We knew that we were in good hands. Mohan and his team made every effort to ensure that we were all safe and that everyone achieved their goals of reaching EBC. He documented the trip along the way and posted photos and stories on social media, which was comforting, enjoyable, and informative for family and friends at home. The food is clean, healthy and delicious, and was carefully prepared to provide perfect fuel for our bodies throughout the trek. The company is also very eco-friendly as they bring all plastics and rubbish down the mountain for recycling. While we were enjoying the amazing Himalayas of Nepal, Mohan and his team expertly handled the daily logistics of travel and lodging. Mohan’s familiarity with the region and its ever-changing weather patterns paid off as he was able to adjust our daily treks to maximize the experience and breath-taking views of the Himalayas. He always had a Plan B! And, a big shout-out to the Sherpas who are all skillful climbers and very friendly. The company provides duffle bags for the trekkers which helps ensure that the Sherpas only carry up to 48.5 lbs. each! Namaste Nomad truly cares about their clients and ensures that they get the most out of world-class trek. Highly recommended!

Trek of a Lifetime

"

I had the pleasure of recently being part of another wonderful trip to the Himalayas - Annapurna Base Camp - with Namaste Nomad - a wonderful small business. There are so many reasons I would always choose Namaste Nomad over any other company. Most importantly it is a true Eco friendly organisation, everything is accounted for along the treks - food, water and waste. They are also Animal friendly and only use porters for transport. This is better as it is providing more jobs for locals, and removes any animal cruelty that can occur only the trek due to pushing yaks or donkeys too hard, too far and without adequate food or water. The food during my trips was phenomenal! If you listen to Mohan and the rest of the guides you are guaranteed success at altitude. Vegetarian, local and fresh food are on the menu. Everyone can live without meat for a couple of weeks...you most definitely don't want to be eating meat in a country that doesn't do health and safety and the food has to be transported on some ones back and could be 4 or 5 days before reaching its end destination - your plate. I have never felt safer on a trip in a foreign country than with Namaste Nomad. The sherpas, porters and guides are all local and have been with the company for a long time. They are all courteous, respectful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable - many of them having submitted Everest and other Himalayan peaks many times over. Everything is taken care of from your first interaction with Mohan. Flights, hotels, transport food, etc. The cost is the best value I have seen - even better value than most as the experience you are getting is unbelievable. As if that wasnt enough, Namaste Nomad also helps out small, local people and communities around Nepal with fundraising and charity works. If you want to raise money to give back to some of the communities you know that it is going directly to where it is needed and not into the pockets of charity CEOs. Don't listen to me any more, just book a trip with Mohan and see for yourself!

Another incredible trip with an amazing company

"

Incredible trip! My wife and I came from the states to join Mohan and a bunch of wonderful Irish people on an island peak expedition. This was our first exposure to trekking in Nepal and technical mountaineering in general. We are rock climbers and hikers, but we trained extra hard the few months before the trip to develop good fitness and strong legs for long walks uphill. We met Mohan briefly while visiting Ireland a year earlier and felt instantly that we could trust him. Mohan is extremely experienced with trekking in the Himalayas (18yrs I think). He has connections every step of the way from hotels in Kathmandu, to flights to lukla, and in even in tea houses all along the route. This allows him to offer his clients fantastic service at a great price. Nice accommodations and food the whole time - everything is included in the cost up front so the only thing we had to think about was water which we just treated with chlorine tabs. Mohan gives great guidance to help avoid getting sick either from altitude or food. He demands good hygiene from kitchen staff and always sends his Sherpas into the kitchen to help and make sure our food is clean. The whole experience felt like a private trip with friends and not commercially organized. And really that's what it is - no middle man. Mohan genuinely cares about his clients and you will quickly become his friend. He will do everything he can to keep you healthy and acclimatized so you can have the best shot possible at meeting your goal. You won't have to worry about being confused the whole time - he keeps you well informed and is always checking to make sure you are doing well. He even coordinates with a guy in Kathmandu so they can make changes for summit attempts based on weather. Because he did this, we ended up summiting a day earlier than planned which made all the difference - I think nearly everyone failed the day before and the day after us due to snowfall, but we had 5 out of 8 summit in our group thanks to Mohan's leadership. Also if you do island peak - he won't make you walk from base camp to Chukkung after a 12-15 hr summit push, we met several people who after making it back to base camp still had a few hours of walking to get to a lodge and we really felt for them. His Sherpa staff is awesome and Mohan ensures they are well taken care of in addition to the porters/yaks. These Sherpas have more than adequate experience and are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. They even threw me a birthday party with a homemade cake along the way. They are fun, happy, and incredibly humble - always working hard to support their families. They deserve a good tip when the trip is over. Whatever you're looking for in a trek/climb - Mohan is your man. He'll work with you to make it happen. He is a friend for life now and I seriously recommend his guide services. Namaste!

Experience of a lifetime!

"

Himalayas, they are beautiful, intimidating and challenging. You might think they are perhaps to hard for you? Well, they are hard, but in our everyday life we are often very comfortable. We need to be challenged from time to time to remind ourselves that we are more than our houses, jobs and what others think of us. I needed that break and challenge two years ago. I joined Mohan and his team on the journey to Everest Basecamp. And lets get the boring (but important) stuff out the way. The team is as professional as it gets. We had the nicest food, best accommodation and best guides. Mohan created atmosphere of community and support. I often looked at other groups (that probably payed 2 or 3 times as we did), and they did not had the service and the fun that we did. But apart from all of the pragmatic stuff, they are the Himalayas themselves. My choice was to abandon the internet altogether (its there if you need it) and enjoy being there. For two weeks, the world forgot about me as i forgot about it. All i cared about was walking. It was like a meditation, an it was simple. Just one foot after another until we reached the destination. Mohan does expeditions the way they should be done. He cares about your spirit, what you eat, what you drink, how you sleep. He knows that those things will get you there and help you with the altitude. His team is supportive, and very experienced. I will be a repeat customer one day, and not once.

Just come back from Bhutan and India, had the most amazing time. Mohan looked after us well and always made our travels easy, taking care of everyones needs. I experienced some amazing sights which I do not think I would have on any average tour, we really did see the real India. I am now planning my next trip. Can not recommend them enough.

Epic trip to Everest Base Camp.

"

I had the most amazing experience walking up to EBC and Kala Pattar with Namaste Nomad. Words cannot describe the views and euphoria. The trip couldn't have been any better from beginning to end. We were thoroughly spoilt and taken care of to the highest standards by Dawa our guide and Sudip his assistant. They were both very accommodating, flexible, helpful, polite, knowledgeable and fun to be around. Our porters were efficient and helped ease our pain! The team offered us excellent advice at all times. In preparation for our trip Ashim and his team briefed us at our hotel and answered all of our questions. I would not hesitate in recommending your highly professional team to any friend or family member (RJ from Southampton UK)

Everest base camp

This was the second trip I booked with Namaste Nomad. The first was hiking to Everest Base Camp which was a phenomenal trip! I placed a deposit on Bhutan before I left Nepal due to the shear genuineness of Mohan. He is very thorough in ensuring a safe and successful trip. In Bhutan he was open to group needs and used this information to organize alternative to the original plans. The group I was with had great communication between so that we could make choices that benefitted all of us. If you are thinking of traveling abroad and you love realism in your travels this is the company to book with. You will get the chance to see everyday life in your travels vs sitting on a tour bus skipping the realities of life outside.
