This holistic tour is not to be missed! This trip is all focus on Health, welbeing, culture, food, and spirituality. In India Kerala has been a prime centre for the development of Ayurveda for long. The verdant forests and hills abundant in herbs and other flora are extremely valuable for the preparation of Ayurvedic concoctions. Keralites or Malayalis adhere to a ayurvedic lifestyle in their cuisine, religious rituals, oil baths, periodic purification etc. Even the martial art forms and dances have drawn from Ayurvedic therapy of health, exercise and healing. This tradition has been kept alive in this exotic land of Kerala at the south western tip of india by Vaidyars (physicians).

These physicians classify a patients’ state of health according to the imbalances of the three doshas namely Vata, Pitha and Kapha. Kapha is the entire physical volume in a living organisms, pitha, the entire biochemical process operating in a body and Vata is that which constitutes bodily movement and activity. A disturbance in any of these three doshas leads to a particular disease and the treatment is administered to restore the equilibrium.

See what people are saying about us!

I am a professor at George Mason University. Namaste Nomad arranged our study abroad trip to Nepal (Conservation Storytelling). We had used another company the year before and have spent many years in Nepal. This company out performs anyone else in Nepal and anywhere globally. Mohan (the CEO) is extraordinarily knowledgable and works very hard to make sure everything is exactly as you need. The people that work for him are the absolute best available in country. Our guide had led multiple tours up Everest and I 100% trusted him with our lives. Our drivers were the same. In addition, Mohan cares very much about the world, the environment and the ability to share cultures and beliefs. And this is how his company is run. With responsibility and heart.

Great for Student Learning Trip!

After meeting Mohan briefly in Donegal I soon signed up to join him his team and 10 other travellers to trek Nepal's Langtang valley. Best decision ever! From the get go when we all met at Dublin airport the level of organisation and planning Mohan had put into this trip became clear. After hassle free flights Mohan had arranged for a local taxi company to meet us at the airport keeping the group together making for stress travel to the hotel, the hotel selected also was to a high standard with everyone's needs catered to.As part of our trip Mohan had arranged for Cultural shows, dinner booking and buses to Kathmandu's heritage sites including a local guide. Allowing us to make the most of our time in this culturally intriguing city. Then it was on to the trekking bit! after the 8 hour bus journey to the mountains we where treated to dinner cooked that the hotel by our guides and porters this was to be the case daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was excellent and more importantly the level of food hygiene Mohan requires these guys work to more than meets any western standards, out of 11 people no one got any food related sickness unlike some people we met on the way who where travelling with other companies if only for this reason alone I couldn't recommend Namaste Nomad highly enough. While on the trek the scenery was simply stunning where the true beauty of the Himalayas is apparent. Making the trek all the more enjoyable was the level knowledge our guides had on the area, plants and animals, and they where only to happy to impart this on us. While being the real professionals they where also great company through out.For most of the group including myself it was our first team at high altitude, and the focus on everyone's safety from Mohan and team was very evident. Something we all found extremely reassuring allowing you to enjoy the trek knowing that you are in good hands. In turn giving us the confidants to make the optional climb to 4800m an experience that will simply leave you gob smacked with a real sense of achievement. After this we made the trek back down through the valley which was an absolute delight with everyone on a high after what had been an unforgettable experience and achievement. With another couple of days to spend in Kathmandu it was a great way to round off the trip.I have already signed up to trek to Everest base camp in September 2019 and that in it self is properly best recommendation I could possibly give.

Langtang valley trek March 2018

"

I first heard of Mohan and Namaste Nomad 2 years ago and since then I have been on 3 amazing trips with them. The first one was in March 2018 when I went to Langtang in Nepal. My first time there I was excited but more than a little apprehensive. I needn’t have worried. Mohan and his team of sherpas were absolutely wonderful. Everything was taken care of, tickets, transfers, all accommodation, most meals, money exchange and advice on where and what to eat and drink. We had been told that it would be completely vegetarian and dairy free on the trek. I had no problem at all with the vegetarian part of it but thought the dairy free might be tough. It wasn’t at all. We ate the most delicious food all prepared by our sherpas using fresh mostly locally sourced ingredients. The dal boat was to die for. We were constantly reminded to drink water, use sunscreen, wear a hat etc. The scenery in langtang was spectacular, towering snow capped mountains and deep valleys with raging rivers. It was an area which had been badly hit by the recent earthquake and there were sad reminders of the damage which had been done. Overall a very good and memorable experience. June 2018 I headed off to the Picos in Spain with Mohan again. For anyone who might be reluctant to travel too far , but wants amazing scenery I would totally recommend the Picos. Somewhat similar to the Himalayas I thought, one area known as the gorge stood out for me anyway. It was breathtaking. We stayed in the most beautiful little villages, ate delicious food and drank lovely local wine. Just a little as we had to remember we were walking in the morning! In April of this year I went back again to Nepal this time to do Annapurna base camp ( usually just known as ABC). A totally different area but no less lovely. It had a lot of forest and was very fertile. As well as being our guide Mohan was a great source of information about the local people and their way of life. I never stopped asking questions!. Again great walking , lots of steps this time but we kept going and finally on Easter Sunday morning at around 8 local time we arrived into ABC. We were told that the morning was the time to see it at its best . The rising sun in such a blue sky , the snow capped Annapurna range all combined to made it such a highlight. It was so well worth it. I think the fact that I did 3 trips with mohan and his team in such a short space of time says it all and I’m certainly not finished yet. For anyone who wants a trek with a difference but at a good price I don’t think you could do much better.

My treks with Namaste Nomad

"

My husband and I found out about Namaste Nomad while on a hike in Ireland the year before. We stayed in connect with Mohan and planned going on the Island Peak trek. Being in the USA, all our communication was by email and Mohan answered all of our questions so we felt ready when we flew to Nepal. The trek was incredible. No stress. Mohan dealt with accommodations in Kathmandu and in the Everest Circuit, food the entire trek, flights to and from Lukla, and taxis from the airport. He gave great advice on the hike up, like avoiding dairy and meat and keeping a constant steady pace, so we didn't get sick or hurt before summit day. He was concerned about our well being and wanted us to make it to the summit and be happy as much as we wanted to. His sherpas were incredible men. Humble, sweet, and considerate. You can trust your guides and you will make a great friend at the same time.

Island Peak April 2018 Nepal Trekking

Best company and personal guided trekking in Himalayas. I been to NEPAL few times and I have done trek in Annapurna circuit with travel company from Dublin ( not fair to say name?) That company collaborate with Nepali local company. This time I choose Namaste Nomad after friend of mine recommend Mohan from donegal ( he is nepali origin Irish citizen and previously worked in Himalayas as #sherpa and guide) I checked the website and see the cost of EBC, compare to other company from Ireland he was very cheap but his itinerary and service looks similar. It was bit hard design to take after seeing price as don't know why he is very cheap and rest are expansive. But now I can say it was the best design. After my #ebc trek with Mohan and Dawa I understand that they deal direct and no middle man. They have oxygen, emergency satellite phone, madicle kit, and we were guided by 5 time Everest summiter one of the humble guy Dawa Sherpa. I am so thankful that I made it to Everest Base Camp. Going up all food was dairy free and no meat, it was hard but great vegetrain food for healthy body and its safe and no sickness. In high altitude Mohan says meat and dairy dosent digest properly that's why many people are tummy sick and get altitude sickness in high places. Many big company doesn't care this much in details , probably no experience in field. Mohan and Dawa have great knowledge and so much caring. Mohan have great links with domestic Air and hotels and markets in Kathmandu also along the trek in tea houses it makes trip very flexible, he was able to change few places in itinerary in our demands. Instead of staying in Namche 2 night we travel to #khumjung like that didn't happen in last trip.Arrival dinner in Kathmandu was free and very well organise evening. Well breafing pre trek. Early flights in and out from lukla. No hassel at all. Luggage store in Kathmandu, Hotel moonlight is best place to stay just back of thamel and 1 minute from Everest Irish Pub 😁. Great rooms and nice beer garden in back. Sightseen was include in trip as well. Overall it was the best adventure holiday so far.I am already decided to do Meera peak with Mohan and Namaste Nomad next year.I fully recommend this small but amizing company for you epic trip to Himalayas.

Everest Base camp

The trip with namaste nomad to Everest Base Camp was truly amazing. The group I was with were also a great bunch of people and it made the trip a lot more enjoyable. The professionalism that mohan and his team of Sherpas provide is exceptional. We did see some other groups on the trip and unfortunately we could clearly see that a lot of things were not provided for them. Travelling with mohan, everything is taken care of from food to the bed you sleep in. It’s almost like you have a group of babysitters because the only thing you have to worry about is the walking !. Mohan and his team provide a safe friendly and thoroughly enjoyable journey even when you hit some hard points. I would highly recommend Namaste nomad for any trip you might want to do. From start to finish the trip was amazing !

Life changing !

"

I travelled to Nepal with Namaste Nomad in March 2018 to trek in Langtang Valley. There were eleven in the group, along with Mohan, our guide. We spent a few days in Kathmandu to acclimatise. We visited three Unesco Heritage sites in the city. Then the trek began- an eight hour bus journey to the start of our adventure.. We trekked for eight days in the are which had been devastated by the earthquake in 2015. The trek was exhilarating, sometimes challenging- Mohan reminded us that we were in the Himalayas- always an adventure! He knew what we needed/wanted before we did! The team of sherpas and trainees were really excellent- they sorted our luggage every day... even checking under the beds in case we left anything behind; they cooked our delicious meals & served us- some of us are still dreaming of Dhal Bhat😋! They were at our side before we knew we needed a hand up or down loose rock🙄! After seven days trekking we returned to Kathmandu to wind down. It was a great experience, made special by the attention to detail of Mohan- a birthday party 🎉, a St Patrick's Day celebration to name a few. What a trip! I recommend Namaste Nomad unreservedly & will travel with Mohan again!

Langtang Valley Trek

"

I recently traveled to Nepal with Namaste Nomad to climb Mera Peak. This trip was an absolute amazing life experience for me. Mohan arranged everything from flights to accommodation to food and everything in between. His local knowledge was invaluable especially in Kathmandu where he even got our money changed to ensure we received the best rate. The trek itself could not have been better for acclimatisation. It’s a slightly longer route than some but gives you the best chance of summiting. Our 2 Sherpas could not have done more. They treated us like family and not just clients. They did everything they could to give us the best chance at summiting .. which the whole group did. I would definitely use NN for an future treks in the Himalayas. 10 out of 10!!

What can I say about Namaste Nomads, just Excellent. From start to finish, everyone that we dealt with were helpful, professional, caring and accommodating in what we wanted for our adventure. Itinerary changes were no problems. The advice we were given before we flew out to Kathmandu and all through the trek were invaluble in making the trek a success. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel and met by Ashim who checked us in and explained about the rest of the trip. We met our guide Dawa (5 times Everest summitier). So much experience from all the Namaste Nomad staff. The trek was fantastic and Dawa (guide) and Sudip (sherpa) looked after us throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their advise from what to eat and how to cope with the altitude was invaluble. The porters who carried our bags were efficient and our bags were always at the lodge well before we arrived. When we got to EBC a change to the itinerary was discussed with us. Dawa suggested we climb Kala Patthar that afternoon and see the sunset over Everest rather than seeing the sunrise early in the morning. What a brilliant suggestion as we saw Everest on fire. If you want to do trek in Nepal then check these people out. I would not hesitate to go with them again. Already planning a trip in 2020 with them.

Everest Base Camp Trek

"

I had the pleasure of recently being part of another wonderful trip to the Himalayas - Annapurna Base Camp - with Namaste Nomad - a wonderful small business. There are so many reasons I would always choose Namaste Nomad over any other company. Most importantly it is a true Eco friendly organisation, everything is accounted for along the treks - food, water and waste. They are also Animal friendly and only use porters for transport. This is better as it is providing more jobs for locals, and removes any animal cruelty that can occur only the trek due to pushing yaks or donkeys too hard, too far and without adequate food or water. The food during my trips was phenomenal! If you listen to Mohan and the rest of the guides you are guaranteed success at altitude. Vegetarian, local and fresh food are on the menu. Everyone can live without meat for a couple of weeks...you most definitely don't want to be eating meat in a country that doesn't do health and safety and the food has to be transported on some ones back and could be 4 or 5 days before reaching its end destination - your plate.I have never felt safer on a trip in a foreign country than with Namaste Nomad. The sherpas, porters and guides are all local and have been with the company for a long time. They are all courteous, respectful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable - many of them having submitted Everest and other Himalayan peaks many times over.Everything is taken care of from your first interaction with Mohan. Flights, hotels, transport food, etc. The cost is the best value I have seen - even better value than most as the experience you are getting is unbelievable. As if that wasnt enough, Namaste Nomad also helps out small, local people and communities around Nepal with fundraising and charity works. If you want to raise money to give back to some of the communities you know that it is going directly to where it is needed and not into the pockets of charity CEOs.Don't listen to me any more, just book a trip with Mohan and see for yourself!
