Day 1: September 15th: Arrival & Exploring Erto
Arrival: Venice Airport
Transfer: Private pickup or bus to Longarone (approx. 1-hour drive) Private Bus
Transfer to Erto: 15-minute drive from Longarone
Accommodation: B&B Il Gufo, Erto
Dinner: [Cervo Bianco, Erto] – Enjoy authentic local cuisine
If arrival is early, there’s an option for a half-day trek around the village.
Highlights:
Explore the historic villages of Erto and Casso, known for their ancient stone tower houses.
Day 2: September 16th: Trekking through the Zemola Valley
Morning: Trek from Casso to Erto (8 km, +350m elevation) via the scenic “Trail of the Charcoal”.
Afternoon: Enter the stunning Zemola Valley, surrounded by breathtaking Dolomite landscapes.
Dinner: Casera Mela – A charming mountain hut with spectacular views.
Night Stay: Erto (B&B Il Gufo)
Optional: If the trail feels too short, there are extended routes available.
Day 3: September 17th: Climbing to Lodina Mountain Hut
Morning: Trek from Erto to Cimolais (8 km, +800m elevation).
Destination: Lodina Mountain Hut – a spectacular viewpoint.
Dinner & Stay: Albergo Ristorante Alla Rosa, Cimolais.
Highlights: Stunning Dolomite scenery, with optional extended routes depending on fitness levels.
Day 4: September 18th: Exploring Campanile di Val Montanaja
Morning: Transfer from Erto to Rifugio Pordenone via van shuttle (2 rides, 30 minutes each).
Trek: Hike through Val Montanaja to reach the famous Campanile di Val Montanaja, a dramatic rock spire and one of the region’s most iconic climbing spots.
Dinner & Stay: Miramonti Sport Hotel, Claut
Highlights: One of the most breathtaking mountain landscapes in Italy.
Day 5: September 19th: Hiking to Rifugio Pradut
Morning: Trek from Claut to Rifugio Pradut (7 km, +800m elevation).
Optional: Routes can be extended based on weather and group energy levels.
Dinner & Stay: Miramonti Sport Hotel, Claut
Highlights: Rifugio Pradut is a perfect spot to soak in the tranquility of the Dolomites.
Day 6: September 20th: Descending to Erto & Vajont History
Morning: Hike from Claut to Erto (7 km, -1000m descent).
Afternoon: Explore Erto, a village with deep history, partially destroyed in the tragic Vajont Dam Disaster of 1963, but still retaining its medieval charm.
Dinner: Trattoria Julia, Erto – a cozy traditional restaurant.
Night Stay: Erto (B&B Il Gufo)
Day 7: September 21st
Morning: Transfer from Erto to Longarone (15-minute drive) Today we have kept an open day by chance. We have to change or interrupt our hiking plan, if all goes as planned we will hike Circular routes in Longarone and spend a night in this charming town.
Day 8: Departure
Final Transfer: Drive to Venice Airport (1-hour drive).traditional restaurant.
