We are organising Everest base camp training weekend. This is not a professional event, but simply a trip organized by Namaste Nomad for clients and other hiking enthusiasts to know about their future hiking trip and preparation, this  training weekend is mainly focus on people fitness level, discussing various topic about EBC trek . And also for people to know each other before travelling to Nepal.

Training will be given by – Very experience guide from Himalayas and main owner of Namaste Nomad- Mohan

Accommodation, Camping in sleepy hollows campsite http://homepage.eircom.net/~sleepyhollows/index.htm please bring your own tent if you wish to camping, you can direct book with campsite link above (bring your own sleeping bag and mattress.  if you need proper hostel accommodation or hotel please check hotel or hostel close to crolly, falcarragh, co. Donegal, that allows everyone to meet up in evening at leo’s pub.

Or you can book the hostel accommodation in Errigal Hostel, dunlewy.

Food, Please bring or buy your own water, food, etc  if you need assist we will help you happily. ( you may cook your own food in campsite if you like) there is plenty place around for buying food  and Restaurants.

Transportation, We would encourage people to carpool as much as possible.  Public transport options are also available, if you are using public transport and need to be collected get in touch and we’ll see what we can do. Those who coming from Dublin please check for car share it will save your cost and give a chance to know each other.

For hiking drop and pick up we we will organize carpool here too.

Walks and information is free.

WEEKEND – ITINERARY

Friday (16th of June) – Arrival day

16:30-20:30 Meet and greet in  sleepy hollows campsite in crolly or member can straight come to the Leo’s pub at 19:30pm- free welcome drinks. Meet, discuss and introduction about following day programme.

Saturday 17th

Meet Up In Glenveagh National Park @car park. We practice 10 minute Breathing practice.

8:30- Departure with group for first day hike from Glenveagh Car park to top of the glen and back to castle for lunch after lunch we will continue walk for 4 Km further to car Park and back to campsite.

Tips: Prepare your pack lunch, water, and essential equipments for hiking.

Trail: is mostly flat, some places we do walk up hill but not extreme. Need waterproof boots with gaiters if it’s rain, walking stick, rain coat, your hiking boots, day bag with water etc.

Evening – we will do car share and meet up with all member from walk in Bonners’ pub and discuss rest of questions and answer about EBC and Nepal. Also you can prepare questions of your own to know more details of the trip. Evening back to the campsite for our night stay.

20:30 Briefing – Meet  organiser Mohan  and get an update on the most important information for our trek in Everest Base camp Nepal.

Sunday 18th

6:00am- We all meet up in Errigal car park for sunrise hike up to Errigal from north side. 3-5 Hours It’s challenging climb but it’s worth it. After finish our Errigal hike we back to the campsite and have your food or drinks ( we may stop on the way at caife) and we say goodbye to each other until 14th of September.
