I travelled with a group from Ireland to Nepal where we started our joureny to Everest Basecamp. This trek was very special to me as I was doing it for charity in memory of my late brother who was a keen hillwalker. Our group was made up of 9 people from Ireland, Scotland and USA. Such a fantastic group it turned out to be. We all supported each other and made new friends, having alot of fun along the way. Oh From start to finish Mohan our leader, did everything in his power to ensure that our trek was 100% successful. The trip was very challenging but very rewarding. He supported us all even when we were struggling and was there at our beck and call at all times. I would like to give a special mention to the 3 sherpas who accompanied us during our trek, Tshering, Pimba and Paldene. Such fantastic support to all of us and true gentlemen. I would highly recommend this group for anybody contemplating a similar experience.

I went to India and Ladakh with Namaste Nomad two years ago. I absolutely loved it, particularly the Himalayas. I therefore challenged myself to trek to Everest Base Camp with them. I did this last year and I can truthfully say that it was one of the most wonderful things I have ever done in my life. I am in my sixties, but the care and attention given me made everything not only manageable but immensely enjoyable. I've now signed up to climb Island Peak with Mohan and the team - my first serious Himalayan mountain. It's a prospect that fills me with a mixture of great excitement and a healthy dose of fear - but I know that I am in the safest of hands. Mohan and the team are watching you every step of the way. Safety is their number one priority, but they manage to make every trek great fun too. Bring it on!

My serious walking career began at the age of 60, when I trekked with Mohan of Namaste Nomad in Ladakh. Since then I have gone back to the Himalayas with him every year: Everest Base Camp, Langtang, Island Peak... Each year I've thought it was as high as I could go, and each year I've come away wanting more. This time I hoped to attain the summit of my ambitions - to climb a 6500 metre mountain, Mera Peak, at the age of 65. Mera, known as the highest trekking peak in the world, was hard. It was steep. It was exhausting. It was wonderful. With the help of Mohan's right-hand-man, Dawa, and Nerbu, a younger sherpa; in the company of three other incredibly supportive Irish trekkers; with the amazing aid of our porters; and with the help, in my case, of copious amounts of oxygen (!), I made it to the very top. Mohan and Dawa always believed in me and did everything in their power to get me to the top. I am immensely proud to have done this, and immensely grateful to Namaste Nomad for giving me the opportunity. Seize the day, people. You are capable of so much more than you think.

What a great trip! This trip lets you see a different side to Northern Spain and the Camino. We had a super time trekking in the Picos de Europe with an amazing bunch of people. The groups are small group so it was flexible and there was no issue with tailoring days to what people needed or required. All ages groups, singles, couples but most of all at the end great friends!Accommodation and meals for each night had been thoughtfully located and selected! Food was amazing! This trip has to be experienced and enjoyed by everyone!

Incredible trip! My wife and I came from the states to join Mohan and a bunch of wonderful Irish people on an island peak expedition. This was our first exposure to trekking in Nepal and technical mountaineering in general. We are rock climbers and hikers, but we trained extra hard the few months before the trip to develop good fitness and strong legs for long walks uphill. We met Mohan briefly while visiting Ireland a year earlier and felt instantly that we could trust him. Mohan is extremely experienced with trekking in the Himalayas (18yrs I think). He has connections every step of the way from hotels in Kathmandu, to flights to lukla, and in even in tea houses all along the route. This allows him to offer his clients fantastic service at a great price.Nice accommodations and food the whole time - everything is included in the cost up front so the only thing we had to think about was water which we just treated with chlorine tabs. Mohan gives great guidance to help avoid getting sick either from altitude or food. He demands good hygiene from kitchen staff and always sends his Sherpas into the kitchen to help and make sure our food is clean. The whole experience felt like a private trip with friends and not commercially organized. And really that's what it is - no middle man. Mohan genuinely cares about his clients and you will quickly become his friend. He will do everything he can to keep you healthy and acclimatized so you can have the best shot possible at meeting your goal. You won't have to worry about being confused the whole time - he keeps you well informed and is always checking to make sure you are doing well. He even coordinates with a guy in Kathmandu so they can make changes for summit attempts based on weather. Because he did this, we ended up summiting a day earlier than planned which made all the difference - I think nearly everyone failed the day before and the day after us due to snowfall, but we had 5 out of 8 summit in our group thanks to Mohan's leadership. Also if you do island peak - he won't make you walk from base camp to Chukkung after a 12-15 hr summit push, we met several people who after making it back to base camp still had a few hours of walking to get to a lodge and we really felt for them. His Sherpa staff is awesome and Mohan ensures they are well taken care of in addition to the porters/yaks. These Sherpas have more than adequate experience and are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. They even threw me a birthday party with a homemade cake along the way. They are fun, happy, and incredibly humble - always working hard to support their families. They deserve a good tip when the trip is over.Whatever you're looking for in a trek/climb - Mohan is your man. He'll work with you to make it happen. He is a friend for life now and I seriously recommend his guide services. Namaste!

Experience of a lifetime!

The trip with namaste nomad to Everest Base Camp was truly amazing. The group I was with were also a great bunch of people and it made the trip a lot more enjoyable. The professionalism that mohan and his team of Sherpas provide is exceptional. We did see some other groups on the trip and unfortunately we could clearly see that a lot of things were not provided for them. Travelling with mohan, everything is taken care of from food to the bed you sleep in. It’s almost like you have a group of babysitters because the only thing you have to worry about is the walking !. Mohan and his team provide a safe friendly and thoroughly enjoyable journey even when you hit some hard points. I would highly recommend Namaste nomad for any trip you might want to do. From start to finish the trip was amazing !

Life changing !

"

I recently traveled to Nepal with Namaste Nomad to climb Mera Peak. This trip was an absolute amazing life experience for me. Mohan arranged everything from flights to accommodation to food and everything in between. His local knowledge was invaluable especially in Kathmandu where he even got our money changed to ensure we received the best rate. The trek itself could not have been better for acclimatisation. It’s a slightly longer route than some but gives you the best chance of summiting. Our 2 Sherpas could not have done more. They treated us like family and not just clients. They did everything they could to give us the best chance at summiting .. which the whole group did. I would definitely use NN for an future treks in the Himalayas. 10 out of 10!!

This was the second trip I booked with Namaste Nomad. The first was hiking to Everest Base Camp which was a phenomenal trip! I placed a deposit on Bhutan before I left Nepal due to the shear genuineness of Mohan. He is very thorough in ensuring a safe and successful trip. In Bhutan he was open to group needs and used this information to organize alternative to the original plans. The group I was with had great communication between so that we could make choices that benefitted all of us. If you are thinking of traveling abroad and you love realism in your travels this is the company to book with. You will get the chance to see everyday life in your travels vs sitting on a tour bus skipping the realities of life outside.
