Commencing with the first two days in the bustling capital city of India, you’ll delve into the historical wonders of the Taj Mahal, immersing yourself in the 17th-century Mughal empire’s history, Hindu traditions, and the vibrant tapestry of the world’s busiest city streets.

The subsequent nine days will be spent in the serene state of Sikkim, nestled in the Himalayas. Aptly named the “peaceful land,” Sikkim unveils its wonders, including rhododendron valleys, cascading waterfalls, vibrant monasteries, and a multicultural society. Itinerary

Day 1 INDIA

Your trip will start today. Arriving In Delhi and transfer to the Hotel and rest, evening tour briefing by your trip leader.

Your trip will be led by your group leader from Ireland, if you are from another country other than Ireland you have to arrange your flight to reach New Delhi and meet the group.

Day 2- AGRA

Travel to Agra City to experience the Mughal architecture. Situated 124 miles (200 kilometres) from New Delhi, Agra sits within day-trip distance of the Indian capital, and a full-day tour to the impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Taj Mahal and nearby Agra Fort transportation by air-conditioned private vehicle. Evening explores Agra city by walking and spending the night in a hotel.

Day 3 – HISTORICAL

Early morning around 5 am we will visit the UNESCO–listed Taj Mahal is one of the most famous buildings in the world. Though you’ve almost certainly seen the white marble wonder in photos, the structure’s symmetry, scope, and obsessive detail can be appreciated only in person. Early morning is the best time to visit to avoid crowds and the heat. After the Agra visit, we will start our journey back to Delhi, on the way we will stop in Mathura town Dotted with temples and beautiful religious structures, Mathura is one of India’s most popular and serene spiritual destinations as it is considered the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Mathura has a rich history that can be seen through the architecture and vast array of art on offer. ( Mathura is optional) We arrive in Delhi and spend the night.

Day 4- HIMALAYAS

Day for flight to the Himalayas. We will take an early flight to Pakyong Airport from Delhi. You get a stunning view of the Himalayan range from the flight. On arrival, we will have all jeeps lined up to pick us up at the Airport. Today will be an epic day with a flight and a jeep ride, but I will make sure it will be easy and safe. After a crowded city tour today you will sleep in the Himalayas with the view of the 3rd highest mountain in the world. We spent the night in Pelling. (The Kanchenjunga range is directly visible from most parts of Pelling. Prepare a cup of hot tea and snacks, play your favourite playlist on a loop, and soak in the sight of the snow-laden Kanchenjunga peak standing strong at the backdrop of this quaint little village. If you are a sunrise lover, there is no better time to catch sight of this mighty mountain than when the sun makes its way to the top, painting the mountain in several layers of gold. Hopefully, the next morning will be bright and sunny.)

Day 5 – KANCHANJUNGA

Wake up on the top of a hill called Pelling with the view of mighty Kanchenjunga, slow start with breakfast, and plan our easy hike for the rest of the afternoon to Uttray village, near the Nepal Border. On your way you will pass Sensor Bridge, said to be the second-highest bridge in Asia. The height of Uttarey is about 6600ft. Uttarey is famous for its tranquillity and natural beauty. The place provides a beautiful view of the Himalayan mountains and is yet relatively less travelled by tourists. This allows a more serene atmosphere to be enjoyed. During winter the mountains around here are covered with snow allowing heavenly views. The Kagyu Gumpha (Gumpha is the local monastery) in Uttarey is a highly revered place of worship for the locals and a good place for sightseeing. The monastery is set amidst dense forests. The wall paintings in the monastery might be of interest to you. The Dental peak and the river are also visible from the monastery. Other important tourist spots around Uttare include the Mainbus Waterfall and the ChewyAbhang Pass. This pass is about 10 km from Uttarey and is the gateway to Nepal. Easy walk following the motor road and some paths, today’s walk will be around 3-4 hours. You spent the night in Uttery village, Homestay.

Day 6 – VILLAGES

Today we will walk from Uttray to Martam Village, passing many waterfalls, farmlands, small villages, and monasteries, it will be a 4-5 hours easy hike. Tonight we will be staying at Homestay run by a family. We will take a village tour in the afternoon to connect with locals. We can see how they live themselves sufficiently. Growing their food and producing milk and butter. It is like 50 years back in Irish life. Staying at Eco resort.

Day 7 – MONASTERY

Today we aim to walk from Martam to Soreng, this will be up to a 22 km hike, pretty long but easy. Really exciting hike, we will be witnessing a remote part of the Himalayas, more authentic life, mountain views, and visiting Palyul Dechen Gaweling Monastery. In the evening we will reach the village of Soreng.  Soreng is known for its largest production of vegetables, oranges, and flowers. The inhabitants are mostly dependent on agriculture, floriculture, and tourism for their livelihood and are mostly Nepali.

Day 8 – ALTITUDE

Today we challenge ourselves for another 18 km hike 6 hours through the village motorable road and forest trails. Our highest altitude on this trip will be 2900mtr and today we will be reaching an altitude of 2900mtr.  Barsey is located at an altitude of 10,000ft, Barsey is renowned for its Rhododendron Sanctuary. The sanctuary falls in the Singalila Range and is a starting point for the Singalila Ridge trek route. Lying at an elevation of 2900 mt. The Sanctuary boasts over 40 varieties of Rhododendron and during full bloom in April, the whole sanctuary looks colourful. Evening we will go back to Soreng village for our night’s stay.

Day 9 – FOREST

Today is our last day of village hike, we will be heading to Rinchenpong village, which has a magnificent command over the mountain views, sunrise and sunset, flora and fauna, village tourism, historical sites, and heritage of Resume Monastery, rich forests, and ample area for short treks. At about 5576ft, the place is famous for its beautiful view of the Kanchenjunga range of mountains.

Day 10 – CAPITAL

Today we are travelling from West Sikkim to East Sikkim Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. On the way, we will stop for lunch at Ravangla town, and also take a short hike to view one of the highest Buddha stupas in the Himalayas, featuring a 130-foot (40 m) high statue of the Buddha as its centrepiece.

Night stay at Gangtok.

Day 11 – CITY

If the weather is clear we will take an early morning trip to the Tashi viewpoint to witness Mount Kanchenjunga at sunrise. We will be back for breakfast at the hotel and in the afternoon we take a city tour on foot. One of the safest places to hike freely.

Day 12 – RETURN

Today is the day for goodbye from Sikkim and we drive to the airport and fly back to Delhi. After arrival in Delhi check in to the hotel and in the evening free for shopping and market. Delhi is famous for spices, garments, jewellery, and food.

Day 13th Departure to Ireland.

Day for Return.

The tour can be extended further if any clients wish to continue on further Journey towards the Himalayas or south India.
