I travelled to Nepal with Namaste Nomad in March 2018 to trek in Langtang Valley. There were eleven in the group, along with Mohan, our guide. We spent a few days in Kathmandu to acclimatise. We visited three Unesco Heritage sites in the city. Then the trek began- an eight hour bus journey to the start of our adventure.. We trekked for eight days in the are which had been devastated by the earthquake in 2015. The trek was exhilarating, sometimes challenging- Mohan reminded us that we were in the Himalayas- always an adventure! He knew what we needed/wanted before we did! The team of sherpas and trainees were really excellent- they sorted our luggage every day... even checking under the beds in case we left anything behind; they cooked our delicious meals & served us- some of us are still dreaming of Dhal Bhat😋! They were at our side before we knew we needed a hand up or down loose rock🙄! After seven days trekking we returned to Kathmandu to wind down. It was a great experience, made special by the attention to detail of Mohan- a birthday party 🎉, a St Patrick's Day celebration to name a few. What a trip! I recommend Namaste Nomad unreservedly & will travel with Mohan again!

After meeting Mohan briefly in Donegal I soon signed up to join him his team and 10 other travellers to trek Nepal's Langtang valley. Best decision ever! From the get go when we all met at Dublin airport the level of organisation and planning Mohan had put into this trip became clear. After hassle free flights Mohan had arranged for a local taxi company to meet us at the airport keeping the group together making for stress travel to the hotel, the hotel selected also was to a high standard with everyone's needs catered to.As part of our trip Mohan had arranged for Cultural shows, dinner booking and buses to Kathmandu's heritage sites including a local guide. Allowing us to make the most of our time in this culturally intriguing city. Then it was on to the trekking bit! after the 8 hour bus journey to the mountains we where treated to dinner cooked that the hotel by our guides and porters this was to be the case daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was excellent and more importantly the level of food hygiene Mohan requires these guys work to more than meets any western standards, out of 11 people no one got any food related sickness unlike some people we met on the way who where travelling with other companies if only for this reason alone I couldn't recommend Namaste Nomad highly enough. While on the trek the scenery was simply stunning where the true beauty of the Himalayas is apparent. Making the trek all the more enjoyable was the level knowledge our guides had on the area, plants and animals, and they where only to happy to impart this on us. While being the real professionals they where also great company through out.For most of the group including myself it was our first team at high altitude, and the focus on everyone's safety from Mohan and team was very evident. Something we all found extremely reassuring allowing you to enjoy the trek knowing that you are in good hands. In turn giving us the confidants to make the optional climb to 4800m an experience that will simply leave you gob smacked with a real sense of achievement. After this we made the trek back down through the valley which was an absolute delight with everyone on a high after what had been an unforgettable experience and achievement. With another couple of days to spend in Kathmandu it was a great way to round off the trip.I have already signed up to trek to Everest base camp in September 2019 and that in it self is properly best recommendation I could possibly give.

I love traveling with Nameste Nomad! This is my fourth trip with Mohan and Nameste Nomad, the reasons I keep coming back are; 1. Affordable- they are half price of most guide companies! 2. Ecologically friendly- when trekking in Nepal we take boiled water over plastic bottles, He asks that people think of their impact as travelers, leaving only footsteps not trash. 3. Quality- from transport to hotels we stayed in high quality hotels and comfortable transportation. 4. Personal touch- the guides where fantastic in looking after all sorts of details and needs. Each trip I have learned new words to use in the countries I’ve been in. 5. Humane travel- Nameste Nomad asks you to participate in the local culture by trying and eating the locally. As in Nepal you will be asked eat Vegetarian since that is the local norm. 6. As a small organization I have had the privilege to travel with the owner, Mohan on multiple trips. 7. Local impact- since I have traveled multiple times with Nameste Nomad, I have had the privilege to see Mohan do charity work while trekking. We have fed small children as we hiked and have stayed at off the beaten path locations to provide a more equitable impact in the mountains of Nepal. One group raised money to aid a village women’s group. Two years later I visited to see the final work that the money did. 8.safety- All guides with Nameste Nomad have had training in first-aid. In Nepal most of his guides have mountain rescue skills from working on Mt. Everest. 9.Multi-National groups. As an American, it is refreshing to travel with persons from all over Europe and Australia. Each time I’ve been on a trip I have met new friends. 10. Experience-each trip has been filled with wonder and delights; from my co-travelers to the knowledge of the guides. I have nothing but great memories and new friends!

Travelled to the north of Spain for a week with Mohan from Namaste Nomad - travelled with 2 friends - 12 in total in the group - 12 had such a laugh. Great bunch of people of all age groups. The holiday was fool proof with all activities and meals organised. We age local cuisine with the locals. Truly an amazing holiday and I would highly recommend it. I thought the holiday was so well organised I have decided to travel to Nepal with this company in 2018. Get booking - you wont regret it.

What a great trip! This trip lets you see a different side to Northern Spain and the Camino. We had a super time trekking in the Picos de Europe with an amazing bunch of people. The groups are small group so it was flexible and there was no issue with tailoring days to what people needed or required. All ages groups, singles, couples but most of all at the end great friends!Accommodation and meals for each night had been thoughtfully located and selected! Food was amazing! This trip has to be experienced and enjoyed by everyone!

Himalayas, they are beautiful, intimidating and challenging. You might think they are perhaps to hard for you? Well, they are hard, but in our everyday life we are often very comfortable. We need to be challenged from time to time to remind ourselves that we are more than our houses, jobs and what others think of us. I needed that break and challenge two years ago. I joined Mohan and his team on the journey to Everest Basecamp. And lets get the boring (but important) stuff out the way. The team is as professional as it gets. We had the nicest food, best accommodation and best guides. Mohan created atmosphere of community and support. I often looked at other groups (that probably payed 2 or 3 times as we did), and they did not had the service and the fun that we did. But apart from all of the pragmatic stuff, they are the Himalayas themselves. My choice was to abandon the internet altogether (its there if you need it) and enjoy being there. For two weeks, the world forgot about me as i forgot about it. All i cared about was walking. It was like a meditation, an it was simple. Just one foot after another until we reached the destination. Mohan does expeditions the way they should be done. He cares about your spirit, what you eat, what you drink, how you sleep. He knows that those things will get you there and help you with the altitude. His team is supportive, and very experienced. I will be a repeat customer one day, and not once.

Everest Basecamp 2016

I have just returned from the most remarkable trip of a lifetime to Everest Basecamp. I don’t usually write reviews however on this occasion I feel the need to share my experiences which I hope will inspire others to travel and to book a trip with Namaste Nomad. I booked this trip in Jan 18 after meeting with Mohan. After my initial meeting I had no doubts in travelling with Mohan and his team. Mohan is an exceptional person who is so passionate about his business and works so hard to ensure everyone meets their goal and has an amazing trip. Everest Basecamp was everything I imagined and much more. The views are breathtaking and the sense of achievement on arriving at Basecamp is so hard to put into words. The trip is a life changing experience as you learn so much about yourself and indeed about others. It really was a journey from the time of booking until we returned home from the Himalayas. I found it very challenging physically, mentally and emotionally but that’s what made it so very special. Throughout the trek Mohan was so attentive to our every need, every decision he made was the right one and his motivation and encouragement ensured we all made it successfully to Basecamp. Mohan’s knowledge of Nepal and the Himalayas is exceptional. Everything from planning the food to gauging the weather to recognising signs when some of us weren’t too well was spot on If you are considering a trek then I can honestly say that you will not get anyone better to travel with than Namaste Nomad. The team of Sherpas and Porters are incredible and the bond made with the Sherpas is one I will never forget, it really was incredible. As for value for money you will not get a more competitive price as I priced several others which were significantly more costly than Namaste Nomad Overall if you want a challenging and life changing experience then I encourage you to make that adventure with Namaste Nomad and I guarantee you will not regret it Thanks to Mohan and his team for everything, I will never forget it. What can I say about Namaste Nomads, just Excellent. From start to finish, everyone that we dealt with were helpful, professional, caring and accommodating in what we wanted for our adventure. Itinerary changes were no problems. The advice we were given before we flew out to Kathmandu and all through the trek were invaluble in making the trek a success. We were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel and met by Ashim who checked us in and explained about the rest of the trip. We met our guide Dawa (5 times Everest summitier). So much experience from all the Namaste Nomad staff. The trek was fantastic and Dawa (guide) and Sudip (sherpa) looked after us throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Their advise from what to eat and how to cope with the altitude was invaluble. The porters who carried our bags were efficient and our bags were always at the lodge well before we arrived. When we got to EBC a change to the itinerary was discussed with us. Dawa suggested we climb Kala Patthar that afternoon and see the sunset over Everest rather than seeing the sunrise early in the morning. What a brilliant suggestion as we saw Everest on fire. If you want to do trek in Nepal then check these people out. I would not hesitate to go with them again. Already planning a trip in 2020 with them.

Thank you, Namaste Nomad and Mohan, for an epic trekking experience of a lifetime to the Everest Base Camp (EBC).The planning process was straightforward with timely and accurate communication from Mohan. He was quick to answer our questions which inspired great confidence in the company. We knew that we were in good hands.Mohan and his team made every effort to ensure that we were all safe and that everyone achieved their goals of reaching EBC. He documented the trip along the way and posted photos and stories on social media, which was comforting, enjoyable, and informative for family and friends at home. The food is clean, healthy and delicious, and was carefully prepared to provide perfect fuel for our bodies throughout the trek. The company is also very eco-friendly as they bring all plastics and rubbish down the mountain for recycling. While we were enjoying the amazing Himalayas of Nepal, Mohan and his team expertly handled the daily logistics of travel and lodging. Mohan’s familiarity with the region and its ever-changing weather patterns paid off as he was able to adjust our daily treks to maximize the experience and breath-taking views of the Himalayas. He always had a Plan B!And, a big shout-out to the Sherpas who are all skillful climbers and very friendly. The company provides duffle bags for the trekkers which helps ensure that the Sherpas only carry up to 48.5 lbs. each!Namaste Nomad truly cares about their clients and ensures that they get the most out of world-class trek. Highly recommended!

Trek of a Lifetime

I recently traveled to Nepal with Namaste Nomad to climb Mera Peak. This trip was an absolute amazing life experience for me. Mohan arranged everything from flights to accommodation to food and everything in between. His local knowledge was invaluable especially in Kathmandu where he even got our money changed to ensure we received the best rate. The trek itself could not have been better for acclimatisation. It’s a slightly longer route than some but gives you the best chance of summiting. Our 2 Sherpas could not have done more. They treated us like family and not just clients. They did everything they could to give us the best chance at summiting .. which the whole group did. I would definitely use NN for an future treks in the Himalayas. 10 out of 10!!
