Nepal’s most popular trekking region the Annapurna region is bursting with life, colours and flavours to delight the senses. The white peak of Machapuchare, the red, yellow and blue of prayer flags, the green terraced fields make this are more than just an exceptional trekking region. Lower in altitude than the Everest region and with easier access that is not as weather dependant the Annapurna region is ideal for shorter treks.
This trekking trail in Nepal stretches almost 100 miles – beginning from tropical zone to elevated highland Thorung La Pass, Annapurna Circuit Trek included widely diverse cultural and natural aspects. The world’s deepest gorge, The Kali Gandaki gorge, has an elevation of 4,660m and is flanked between two mountains both above 8,000m, namely Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna I (8,091m). The trek will take you through Throng La pass which rises up to an altitude of 5,416m. During the Annapurna Circuit trek, you walk with through a blend of exquisite culture, typical Nepalese village lifestyle, unbelievably challenging yet mesmerizingly beautiful landscape and above all pristine Himalayas. You will encounter varied cultural experiences of both Hindu and Buddhist lifestyle which will be manifested in numerous temples and monasteries that you bump into on the way.
Day 1: Arrival Day – Kathmandu
Welcome to the Land of Himalayas! On your arrival, Namaste Nomad Guides and Sherpa would pick up you from airport and transfer to your hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu. After check in to hotel, time for refreshment.
Evening, we will have a group meeting and introduction Hotel lobby for a trek briefing session with your trek leader . Then, to one of the typical Nepalese Restaurant (Nepali Chulo) for the welcome dinner (We eat Dal Bhat, typical Nepalese food)with cultural show and ethnic dancing. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu
Today you will have a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu with the best tourist guide of the town. After breakfast, we escort you to Pashupatinath-the largest Hindu Temple of Nepal. You will see exceptionally carved statues and idols of Hindu deities, a long row of Shiva-Lings, series of small temples and the golden hood at the top of main Temple is truly fascinating. You may witness the Hindu death ritual at Aryaghat Pashupatinath. We continue to Boudhanath, a large domed shaped Buddhist stupa, Boudhanath holds huge religious significance among the Tibetan Buddhists of Nepal. Tour continues to Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath. Tours sightseeing in Kathmandu as well as hotel with breakfast is included.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Besisahar
Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar by deluxe Bus and trek to Bhulbhule (840m), 7 hours drive and 1-2 hours trek
After the breakfast, we begin our journey, driving along the Kathmandu-Pokhara Highway to Dumre and then following the rough road above Marsyangdi River. We pass through the low-lying villages and rice fields. After 6-7 hours of long drive, we finally arrive to Besi Sahar. From Besi Sahar, our trek kicks off. We trek along the trail of the village and descend down along the narrow path to the Pam Khola. On crossing the stream, we ascend towards the village of Denauti where we get to see Nepali village life closely. The trail further leads to the banks of the Marshyangdi Khola, passing through paddy fields and subtropical forests. As the trail nears the Khudi Khola, we approach the Gurung village of Bhulbule. Once we reach Bulbule we will have time to rest and explore around. Overnight at Bhulbule.
Day 4: Trek to Ghermu (1310m) 5-6 hrs walk
After having breakfast at Bhulbhule, we start our Annapurna Circuit trek with pleasure walk along Marsyangdi River to Ngadi village. Crossing couple of suspension bridges, our trail goes high up to Bahundanda village. Beyond Bahundanda, the trail goes down and we chase the leveled trail to Ghermu for the overnight. Enjoy your evening with Ghermu waterfall view. Overnight at Ghermu.
The Bhutanese capital of Thimphu for a two night stay. On the second day the numerous attractions of Thimphu beckon. we can help you narrow down the options but the National Textile Museum and Folk Heritage Museum are fantastic introductions to Bhutan’s fascinating history. If you want to stretch your legs then the one hour walk to the Tango Monastery rewards you with pretty views over the town. Plant a prayer flag here to formally start you journey in Bhutan!
Day 5: Ghermu to Tal (1700m), 6 hrs walk
Once we finish our breakfast, we start our trek with short downhill walk to Syange village and go gradually up to Jagat village. An hour long pleasant walk will bring us in Chamje village. And again, a short walk will bring us to suspension bridge over rushing Marsyangdi River. On the other side of the bridge a steep uphill climb awaits us. A couple of hours of effortful uphill climb would bring us to Tal Village for overnight. Evening we explore and rest in Tal. Overnight at Tal.
Day 6: Tal to Bagarchhap (2160m), 5-6 hrs walk
Again after the breakfast we start our trek with pleasant walk along the bank of Marsyangdi River. Crossing few suspension bridges and walking the sandy trails bring us to a big settlement, Dharapani. An hour walk from Dharapani would brings us in Bagarchhap Village for the overnight. Overnight at Bagarchhap.
Day 7: Bagarchhap to Chame (2670m), 6 hrs walk
After the breakfast we start our trek and from today we start to feel the altitude. The air gets cooler, the landscape, vegetation around begin to change and flanking regions have few sparsely populated villages. We start our trek with easy walk to Danaque and then the trail goes along the steep uphill climb to Timang Village. Timang village offer magnificent view of Manaslu Range and closer view of Lamjung & Annapurna II. After Timang, trekkers enjoy easy and pleasant walk to Chame. We ascend and descend occasionally, we crosspass buckwheat feilds, apple farms and green forest to reach Chame. Enjoy your evening in Chame by exploring around. Overnight at Chame.
Day 8: Chame to Pisang (3200m), 5-6 hrs walk
Today, we start our trek after breakfast and continue our trek by crossing suspension bridge over Marsyangdi River. The trail goes through pine forest with few ups and down to arrive in Bhartang Village. The trek continues along the leveled trail for a while before we cross the suspension bridge again over Marsyangdi River. Then we climb steeply high through pine forest that brings us to the top of the ridge, Dhukur Pokhari. On the way to Pisang, we will have a wonderful views of Pisang peak and Mt. Chulu. In the evening, we visit upper Pisang village which is famous for Tibetan style houses, monastery along with panoramic view of the Annapurna range and valley. Overnight at Pisang.
Day 9: Pisang to Manang (3540m), 5 hrs walk
After the breakfast, we start our trek with pleasant walk through pine forest. The trail goes gently up for half an hour to the top of the ridge. From here, we can see beautiful Manang Valley, which offers the view of Humde village with short air-strip, as well as towering peaks of Gangapurna, Annapurna II & III, Tilicho and more. From here it is easy walk almost flat to Humde village. Further trekking for an hour brings us to traditionally built village Braga. From Braga, it is less than an hour walk to Manang Village for the overnight. Explore Manang village and Overnight at Manang.
Day 10: Acclimatization and Rest in Manang (3540m)
Today is our acclimatization day in Manang. After the breakfast, we explore around. We make short hike to Gangapunra Lake. Nearby hill offers spectacular view of Gangapurna, Annapurna 3, Annapurna 2, Tilicho Peak , Chulu peak as well as the beautiful Marsyangdi Valley. Rest of the time is our relaxing time at Manang. Overnight at Manang.
Day 11: Manang to Yak Kharka (4050m), 5 hrs walk
After the breakfast, today we start our trek with slow climb to Tenki Manang. Further an hour walk brings us to Gunsang and from here we have wide panoramic view of Annapurna starting from Annapurna II to Tilicho peak. The trail goes slowly up through the juniper bushes with few huts on the way before we arrive at Yak Kharka.Overnight at Yak kharka.
Day 12: Yak kharka to Throang Phedi (4450 m), 4 hrs walk
After the breakfast, we start our trek with slow climb for about an hour to reach Ledtar Village. The pace is slow as we are walking above 4 thousand meters. The landscape and mountains view are amazing throughout the day. An hour long descending trek bring us to the narrow wooden bridge over Jorsang Khola. Crossing the bridge we trek along the trail that goes steeply up to a narrow gully. Further an hour long walk along the gully will bring us in Thorang Phedi for the overnight.
Day 13: Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (3760m)
Thorang Phedi to Muktinath (3760m) Via Thorang-la pass (5416 m), 8-9 hrs walkWe start our trek after the breakfast and today is our toughest day of Annapurna Circuit Trek. It is very long and hard day. The trail goes steeply up to High Camp. We walk slowly having rest on the way. 3-4 hrs tough walk will finally bring us at the top of Thorang pass, which is the highest point of the trek. We take few minutes here, taking photographs; enjoy the scenery of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri. From here we go all the way down to Muktinath. Explore aound the Muktinath and Overnight at Muktinath.
Day 14: Muktinath to Marpha (2670m), 6-7 hrs walk
Today we visit the Muktinath Temple early in the morning and continue our trek after the breakfast. It is easy and enjoyable downhill trek to Eklebhatti. From here onwards, the trail follows to windy path on the bank of Kaligandaki River to Jomsom. Again we have easy walk for couple of hrs to reach Marpha Village. Let your trek exhaustion go at Marpha. Overnight at Marpha.
Day 15: Marpha to Ghasa (2010m), 6-7 hrs walk
Today we trek with slow descent to Tukuche Village. This part of trail offers close view of Tukuche peak and Mt.Dhaulagiri. An hour further descend will bring us to Kalopani village. Kalopani is another beautiful village with lovely views of Mt. Annapurna I, Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri towering above the beautiful pine forest. The final two hrs of downhill easy walk for the day will bring us to Ghasa. Overnight at Ghasa.
Day 16: Ghasa to Tatopani (1190m), 4 hrs walk
Today begins with a pleasant walk, descending slowly to rich Rupse waterfall. We then continue our trek through terraced fields to reach Dana valley. Afterwards the trail is almost flat and goes along the Kaligandaki River to reach Tatopani Village for the overnight. Enjoy the hot bath in natural hot spring and Overnigh at Tatopani.
Day 17: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2860m), 7-8 hrs walk
Today, we cross a suspension bridge over Kaligandaki River and divert to Ghorepani crossing again the suspension bridge over Ghara khola. The trails go steeply up for about an hour and further up for couple of hrs, which bring us to Sikha. We continue our walk through rhododendron forest for 3 hrs until we reach to Ghorepani . Rest of the time we explore ghorepani and Overnight at Ghorepani.
Day 18: Poon Hill (3210 m) hike and trek to Tadapani (2630m), 4-5 hrs walk
Early morning hike to Poonhill, which is 45 minutes walk with the crowd of trekkers. Poonhill is the place which offers wide range of Himalayan Panorama of Manaslu, Annapurna & Dhaulagiri. The sunrise over Himalaya is really great. After having great time at Poonhill, return to Ghorepani for breakfast and then continue our trek to Tadapani. Overnight at Tadapan.
Day 19: Tadapani to Ghandruk to Nayapul to Pokhara
Today we have short trekking to Ghandruk. It is easy and pleasant walking through forested path, almost all the way down. Three hrs walk with occasional view of Annapurna bring us to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is one of biggest & modern Gurung Villages that offers great views of Annapurna south, Hiunchuli & Fishtail. We continue our trek by walking down for couple of hrs to Nayapul. From Nayapul we will have one hour scenic drive to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.
Day 20: Return to Kathmandu
Early morning we drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. After arriving in Kathmandu, guide will transferyou to your Hotel. In the evening, you are invited to a cultural restaurant for the farewell dinner.
Day 21: Depart Kathmandu
This is your last day in Nepal. You can do shopping or buy some souvenirs for your family, friends or relatives until your departure to airport. We will transfer you to the International Airport for your departure to your onward destination. Unless you have more your extra days after trek otherwise we will say good bye until next time.
