I first heard of Mohan and Namaste Nomad 2 years ago and since then I have been on 3 amazing trips with them. The first one was in March 2018 when I went to Langtang in Nepal. My first time there I was excited but more than a little apprehensive. I needn’t have worried. Mohan and his team of sherpas were absolutely wonderful. Everything was taken care of, tickets, transfers, all accommodation, most meals, money exchange and advice on where and what to eat and drink. We had been told that it would be completely vegetarian and dairy free on the trek. I had no problem at all with the vegetarian part of it but thought the dairy free might be tough. It wasn’t at all. We ate the most delicious food all prepared by our sherpas using fresh mostly locally sourced ingredients. The dal boat was to die for. We were constantly reminded to drink water, use sunscreen, wear a hat etc. The scenery in langtang was spectacular, towering snow capped mountains and deep valleys with raging rivers. It was an area which had been badly hit by the recent earthquake and there were sad reminders of the damage which had been done. Overall a very good and memorable experience. June 2018 I headed off to the Picos in Spain with Mohan again. For anyone who might be reluctant to travel too far , but wants amazing scenery I would totally recommend the Picos. Somewhat similar to the Himalayas I thought, one area known as the gorge stood out for me anyway. It was breathtaking. We stayed in the most beautiful little villages, ate delicious food and drank lovely local wine. Just a little as we had to remember we were walking in the morning! In April of this year I went back again to Nepal this time to do Annapurna base camp ( usually just known as ABC). A totally different area but no less lovely. It had a lot of forest and was very fertile. As well as being our guide Mohan was a great source of information about the local people and their way of life. I never stopped asking questions!. Again great walking , lots of steps this time but we kept going and finally on Easter Sunday morning at around 8 local time we arrived into ABC. We were told that the morning was the time to see it at its best . The rising sun in such a blue sky , the snow capped Annapurna range all combined to made it such a highlight. It was so well worth it. I think the fact that I did 3 trips with mohan and his team in such a short space of time says it all and I’m certainly not finished yet. For anyone who wants a trek with a difference but at a good price I don’t think you could do much better.

Travelled to the north of Spain for a week with Mohan from Namaste Nomad - travelled with 2 friends - 12 in total in the group - 12 had such a laugh. Great bunch of people of all age groups. The holiday was fool proof with all activities and meals organised. We age local cuisine with the locals. Truly an amazing holiday and I would highly recommend it. I thought the holiday was so well organised I have decided to travel to Nepal with this company in 2018. Get booking - you wont regret it.

Incredible trip! My wife and I came from the states to join Mohan and a bunch of wonderful Irish people on an island peak expedition. This was our first exposure to trekking in Nepal and technical mountaineering in general. We are rock climbers and hikers, but we trained extra hard the few months before the trip to develop good fitness and strong legs for long walks uphill. We met Mohan briefly while visiting Ireland a year earlier and felt instantly that we could trust him. Mohan is extremely experienced with trekking in the Himalayas (18yrs I think). He has connections every step of the way from hotels in Kathmandu, to flights to lukla, and in even in tea houses all along the route. This allows him to offer his clients fantastic service at a great price.Nice accommodations and food the whole time - everything is included in the cost up front so the only thing we had to think about was water which we just treated with chlorine tabs. Mohan gives great guidance to help avoid getting sick either from altitude or food. He demands good hygiene from kitchen staff and always sends his Sherpas into the kitchen to help and make sure our food is clean. The whole experience felt like a private trip with friends and not commercially organized. And really that's what it is - no middle man. Mohan genuinely cares about his clients and you will quickly become his friend. He will do everything he can to keep you healthy and acclimatized so you can have the best shot possible at meeting your goal. You won't have to worry about being confused the whole time - he keeps you well informed and is always checking to make sure you are doing well. He even coordinates with a guy in Kathmandu so they can make changes for summit attempts based on weather. Because he did this, we ended up summiting a day earlier than planned which made all the difference - I think nearly everyone failed the day before and the day after us due to snowfall, but we had 5 out of 8 summit in our group thanks to Mohan's leadership. Also if you do island peak - he won't make you walk from base camp to Chukkung after a 12-15 hr summit push, we met several people who after making it back to base camp still had a few hours of walking to get to a lodge and we really felt for them. His Sherpa staff is awesome and Mohan ensures they are well taken care of in addition to the porters/yaks. These Sherpas have more than adequate experience and are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. They even threw me a birthday party with a homemade cake along the way. They are fun, happy, and incredibly humble - always working hard to support their families. They deserve a good tip when the trip is over.Whatever you're looking for in a trek/climb - Mohan is your man. He'll work with you to make it happen. He is a friend for life now and I seriously recommend his guide services. Namaste!

Experience of a lifetime!

This was the second trip I booked with Namaste Nomad. The first was hiking to Everest Base Camp which was a phenomenal trip! I placed a deposit on Bhutan before I left Nepal due to the shear genuineness of Mohan. He is very thorough in ensuring a safe and successful trip. In Bhutan he was open to group needs and used this information to organize alternative to the original plans. The group I was with had great communication between so that we could make choices that benefitted all of us. If you are thinking of traveling abroad and you love realism in your travels this is the company to book with. You will get the chance to see everyday life in your travels vs sitting on a tour bus skipping the realities of life outside.

Epic trip to Everest Base Camp.

"

My serious walking career began at the age of 60, when I trekked with Mohan of Namaste Nomad in Ladakh. Since then I have gone back to the Himalayas with him every year: Everest Base Camp, Langtang, Island Peak... Each year I've thought it was as high as I could go, and each year I've come away wanting more. This time I hoped to attain the summit of my ambitions - to climb a 6500 metre mountain, Mera Peak, at the age of 65. Mera, known as the highest trekking peak in the world, was hard. It was steep. It was exhausting. It was wonderful. With the help of Mohan's right-hand-man, Dawa, and Nerbu, a younger sherpa; in the company of three other incredibly supportive Irish trekkers; with the amazing aid of our porters; and with the help, in my case, of copious amounts of oxygen (!), I made it to the very top. Mohan and Dawa always believed in me and did everything in their power to get me to the top. I am immensely proud to have done this, and immensely grateful to Namaste Nomad for giving me the opportunity. Seize the day, people. You are capable of so much more than you think.

I went to India and Ladakh with Namaste Nomad two years ago. I absolutely loved it, particularly the Himalayas. I therefore challenged myself to trek to Everest Base Camp with them. I did this last year and I can truthfully say that it was one of the most wonderful things I have ever done in my life. I am in my sixties, but the care and attention given me made everything not only manageable but immensely enjoyable. I've now signed up to climb Island Peak with Mohan and the team - my first serious Himalayan mountain. It's a prospect that fills me with a mixture of great excitement and a healthy dose of fear - but I know that I am in the safest of hands. Mohan and the team are watching you every step of the way. Safety is their number one priority, but they manage to make every trek great fun too. Bring it on!

Truly a high-point of my life

"

My husband and I found out about Namaste Nomad while on a hike in Ireland the year before. We stayed in connect with Mohan and planned going on the Island Peak trek. Being in the USA, all our communication was by email and Mohan answered all of our questions so we felt ready when we flew to Nepal. The trek was incredible. No stress. Mohan dealt with accommodations in Kathmandu and in the Everest Circuit, food the entire trek, flights to and from Lukla, and taxis from the airport. He gave great advice on the hike up, like avoiding dairy and meat and keeping a constant steady pace, so we didn't get sick or hurt before summit day. He was concerned about our well being and wanted us to make it to the summit and be happy as much as we wanted to. His sherpas were incredible men. Humble, sweet, and considerate. You can trust your guides and you will make a great friend at the same time.

Island Peak April 2018 Nepal Trekking

"

I had the pleasure of recently being part of another wonderful trip to the Himalayas - Annapurna Base Camp - with Namaste Nomad - a wonderful small business. There are so many reasons I would always choose Namaste Nomad over any other company. Most importantly it is a true Eco friendly organisation, everything is accounted for along the treks - food, water and waste. They are also Animal friendly and only use porters for transport. This is better as it is providing more jobs for locals, and removes any animal cruelty that can occur only the trek due to pushing yaks or donkeys too hard, too far and without adequate food or water. The food during my trips was phenomenal! If you listen to Mohan and the rest of the guides you are guaranteed success at altitude. Vegetarian, local and fresh food are on the menu. Everyone can live without meat for a couple of weeks...you most definitely don't want to be eating meat in a country that doesn't do health and safety and the food has to be transported on some ones back and could be 4 or 5 days before reaching its end destination - your plate.I have never felt safer on a trip in a foreign country than with Namaste Nomad. The sherpas, porters and guides are all local and have been with the company for a long time. They are all courteous, respectful, friendly and extremely knowledgeable - many of them having submitted Everest and other Himalayan peaks many times over.Everything is taken care of from your first interaction with Mohan. Flights, hotels, transport food, etc. The cost is the best value I have seen - even better value than most as the experience you are getting is unbelievable. As if that wasnt enough, Namaste Nomad also helps out small, local people and communities around Nepal with fundraising and charity works. If you want to raise money to give back to some of the communities you know that it is going directly to where it is needed and not into the pockets of charity CEOs.Don't listen to me any more, just book a trip with Mohan and see for yourself!
